Safety & the sea
Being safe in the sea is hugely important and a process that never ends as we learn and gain experience of the power of nature. Every swim is different and presents its own challenges. Swimming together with buddies helps us to make sea swimming safer and having our own knowledge of the sea and how the cold water affects our bodies makes us wiser and safer too.

CHECK CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU SWIM
SURFLINE app contains information on tides, swells, waves and wind which can also be used by sea swimmers to make safe swimming choices based on sound sea knowledge, before entering the sea.
You can also take a look at Brighton’s webcams to check the sea conditions before making your decision if it’s safe to swim.
